A brief history

Begum Rabeya Khatun Chowdhury Nursing College is he outcome of a long cherished dream of a renowned industrialist, successful businessman and above all a philanthropist of high esteem Danobir Dr. Syed Ragib Ali. He is the promoter, donor and patronizer of more than two hundred schools, colleges, madrashes and other branches of education and welfare institutions scattered throughout the whole of the country. He opened a new dimension to build Medical College, Nursing College & Hospitals.

Late Begum Rabeya Khatun Chowdhury, a generous noble lady, the co-founder of the institution actively supported its establishment.

Begum Rabeya Khatun Chowdhury Nursing College has been set up with the aim of producing a medical graduates with high moral character and the best professional knowledge an attitude of service above self.

Begum Rabeya Khatun Chowdhury Nursing College also buildup with the same philosophy. Both of the Colleges are purely non-political and non-profiting organization and its affairs are managed by a trust named as “Ragib-Rabeya Foundation”.

Begum Rabeya Khatun Chowdhury Nursing College, Sylhet is situated in divisional headquarter of Sylhet Division and located at Ragib-Rabeya Medical College Road, Pathantula, Sylhet, Bangladesh. Begum Rabeya Khatun Chowdhury Nursing College, Sylhet which is about 225 km from Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Sylhet is the land of saints and sufis and may be termed as the spiritual centre of Bangladesh. It is surrounded by lush tea gardens, hills and valleys in a picturesque landscape. It has an excellent rail, road, air and river communications linking with capital City Dhaka as well as Port City Chittagong. It takes only 22 minutes by air from Dhaka to Sylhet and 41/2 hours by road.
